As an Optimization Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the performance of Suncor Optimization systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, product supply, and D&IT, to ensure seamless operations, timely issue resolution, and effective change implementation. Your analytical mindset and attention to detail will help drive improvements in allocation processes, data reporting, and system performance - ultimately supporting more efficient and reliable logistics operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics operations, supply chain operations, and/or data application systems support.
  • Solid understanding of product allocation, lifting processes, and terminal operations.
  • Proficiency with optimization tools such as DTN, SAP IBP, HAL, TMS, and MarketView
  • Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining Power BI reports or similar data visualization tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Application Information Systems, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between logistics operations, product supply, D&IT, and technology vendors to support optimization system operations such as DTN, IBP, and MarketView.
  • Manage product allocation and lifting processes in DTN, including balancing volumes, verifying lifts, and resolving carrier issues.
  • Coordinate monthly volume uploads from SAP IBP to DTN and update secondary product volumes.
  • Maintain data integrity across DTN and IBP systems to support the lifting and monthly forecast processes.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and presentations for allocation, demand tracking, and forecast reporting.
  • Support MarketView processes, including weekly pricing data preparation and interface management.
  • Act as the primary contact for incident resolution, change requests, and system enhancements related to optimization systems.
  • Perform routine data cleanup tasks (e.g., consignee maintenance) to prevent allocation issues.
  • Monitor and manage seasonal configurations such as biofuel (B5) lifting settings.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance allocation and other optimization-related business processes (e.g., E15 rollout, supply reliability initiatives).

Location and other Key Details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday with some occasional out of regular hrs work to meet operational support requirements.
