About The Opportunity
Our dynamic client in Ottawa west is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their high volume, growing organization on a permanent, full-time basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly high volume payroll processing, on both an hourly and salary basis
- Administer and reconcile Benefits and Pension plans, record subsequent remittances
- Process WSIB & EHT remittances, CRA source deductions
- Reconcile Payroll accounts, working closely with the GL and appropriate Balance Sheets
- Input changes to employee payroll records maintained in the payroll system
- Process terminations/ROEs, T4s
- Keep up to date with payroll best practices and legislative changes
- Maximizing efficiencies, maintaining operational standards and adhering to department policies and procedures
- Act as a professional point of contact for staff payroll inquiries
- Conduct other payroll and finance duties as required
The successful candidate will have the following:
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Designation is a strong asset
- Strong technical skills, ability to learn new software
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritize
- Excellent communication skills- written, oral, comprehension
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative
- Understanding & application of strict confidentiality
