We provide opportunities to build expertise in specialized and critical technical areas. At Focal you are part of a team In this role as a working lead, you will:
  • Lead a team of material handlers and logistics specialists to maintain and improve material flow for production operations. This role is expected to be split evenly between hands-on operational work and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Lead shipping and logistics support for all company products and internal shipping needs
  • Lead meeting inventory requirements and production schedule to meet customer requirements.
  • Identify and execute on Material & Logistics goals and objectives
  • Monitor and report progress against team and departmental goals
  • Hold staff accountable daily to meet performance objectives
  • Identify equipment, process and resourcing/capacity needs to meet objectives
  • Identify and resolve any issues that prevent the team from meeting objectives
  • Build a high performing team through consistent communication, goal setting, performance coaching, feedback and recognition practices
  • Develop the team capabilities through regular one on ones and career conversations
  • Foster a reward and recognition culture by actively recognizing and celebrating individual and team successes and accomplishments
  • Understand, communicate and promote company HR policies, programs and initiatives
  • Train and onboard new team members
  • Proactively identify employee issues/concerns and engage with HR & Operations leadership for support
  • Manage/approve team vacation and weekly timecards
  • Work with other supervisors to flow resources and create opportunities for cross-training as needed
  • Take a lead role in recruitment efforts

  • A Materials and Logistics Professional, with a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, inventory optimization and operational efficiency.

What You Bring:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capabilities
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
  • Proven abilities relating to training and supporting employee development and training
  • Ability to work in a team environment while focusing on independent work
  • Good verbal, written communication and influencing skills
  • Willingness and ability to meet challenging customer requirements and schedule
  • High attention to detail with ability to learn
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and highly proactive work style with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skill
  • Experience working within an ISO system
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
