Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor of Assistant Supervisor, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation of electrical and electronic equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, Replace, Update and Maintain all related electrical and electronic systems which include:
- Installation and maintenance of lighting system
- Installation and maintenance of power distribution systems
- Troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of control circuits
- Maintenance of security alarm systems, P.A. systems, clock systems, fire alarm, network cabling
- Install and maintain Energy Management systems as required
- Implementation of work orders and preventive maintenance requirements
- Assist other trades as necessary or as directed in troubleshooting of all other electrical equipment
- Be available for emergency call-in as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor.
- Courteous, Safe, Decision Making:
- Evaluate accurately faults and safety hazards.
- Minimizing disruption of facility operation while performing duties.
- Judgement and initiative are required in planning and performance of duties, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Input suggestions for physical alterations and/or additions to improve operations.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Assorted hand tools, test equipment, (i.e. Multi-Meter, Amprobe, conduct bender?), threading machine, power tools, (i.e. drills, pipe vice and threader pipe benders, Greenlee hole punch, etc., supplied by DDSB), ladders, cherry pickers, truck, computer/printer.
- Must be a qualified electrician having completed a formal 4-year apprenticeship and possess an Ontario Maintenance/Construction License or an Industrial/Maintenance Certificate.
- C.F.A.A. Certificate preferred; must be obtained within 2 years of hire if not currently held.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of Ontario Hydro Electrical Safety Code, Fire and Building Code.
- Electrical experience with a school board would be an asset.
- This is a 40 hour per week, permanent day shift position.
