The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations and Maintenance, this position will perform electrical and instrumentation duties with respect to installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment within the Regional Water System, Bay Bulls Big Pond water supply network.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations and Maintenance, this position will perform electrical and instrumentation duties with respect to installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment within the Regional Water System, Bay Bulls Big Pond water supply network.
Accountabilities
- Conduct regular and emergency breakdown repair and maintenance of all electrical equipment and facilities including, but not limited to, motors of varying horsepower, switch gear, starters, controls, transformers, feeders, lighting, programmable logic controllers, power circuits and telemetering systems, instrumentation and all facility wiring
- Confidently and safely work with high voltages, feeders and transformers.
- Conduct regular inspections of supply equipment and facilities to ensure reliable operation, execute all work orders according to Safe Work Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Review preventative maintenance reports and fault reports to ensure effective upkeep of equipment and facilities.
- Set up, and carry out maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment including regular testing and troubleshooting of electrical problems, and all emergency power generation units within the Regional system.
- Keep maintenance logs current and complete with corrective actions detailed.
- Maintain accurate circuitry identification tags on all new and existing equipment.
- Read, interpret and if necessary generate electrical drawings.
- Maintain specialized tools and equipment.
- Assist contractors in carrying out specialized work.
- Perform installations, enhancements and improvements to water treatment process control, communications, data acquisition, low voltage electrical, electronic, instrumentation equipment and associated hardware.
- Maintain, test and calibrate process control, communication networks, data acquisition, low voltage electrical and electronic, instrumentation equipment using a variety of test instruments.
- Troubleshoot, monitor and diagnose problems in SCADA system.
- Perform troubleshooting and programming in ControlLogix as required
- Test, configure, and install new facilities to be monitored on SCADA system as well as existing process plant and pumping station upgrades.
- Select, install, calibrate, monitor and ensure accuracy of master flow meters throughout the Regional System.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor or as indicated by system operation and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Dual Red Seal Certifications in both the Industrial Electrician and Instrumentation and Control trades, OR Red Seal Certification in Industrial Electrician with exceptional Instrumentation and Controls experience (preference given to dual Red Seal Certifications)
- Must have worked in an industrial environment as a Journeyperson in both trades with a minimum of five (5) years experience as Industrial Electrician, or worked in an industrial environment as a Journeyperson Industrial Electrician with a minimum of five (5) years experience as Industrial Electrician with exceptional Instrumentation and Controls experience
- Experience working at a water treatment plant is an asset.
- Possession of a Water Treatment Operator Certification is an asset.
Working Conditions

- Must be able to work independently, carry out verbal and written instructions quickly and accurately, and deal with people in a tactful, diplomatic manner.
- Valid class 5 Drivers License
- Medium level of strenuousness and safety sensitive position
