About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with a strong background in wood-frame multifamily construction to join our team in Nanaimo, BC. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project documents, and supporting the preconstruction process from concept through to project handoff.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for wood-frame multifamily residential projects
• Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare quantity take-offs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Develop comprehensive bid packages and cost proposals
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to review budgets and value engineering options
• Maintain and update cost databases and historical records
• Assist in preparing schedules, procurement plans, and project cash flows
• Support contract negotiations and award recommendations
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in estimating for wood-frame multifamily construction projects
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, materials, and trade practices
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or equivalent)
• Exceptional analytical and numerical skills
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
