JOB PURPOSE:
The Housekeeper will maintain the cleanliness of the resident rooms and common areas of their designated floor in accordance with the established policies and procedures.

The target hiring range for this position is $24.34 to $24.34 with a maximum of $24.34.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.

Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Housekeeper will maintain the cleanliness of the resident rooms and common areas of their designated floor in accordance with the established policies and procedures.
Characteristic Job Duties
The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:
- Dust all ledges, windows, windowsills, curtains, furniture, mirrors, lighting, electronics, residents’ personal affects and all horizontal surfaces in a professional and delicate manner.
- Wipe down bedside tables
- Spot clean walls as needed in resident room and bathroom.
- Clean/sanitize toilet, sink, faucets, soap dispensers, light switches, remote controls, and door handles.
- Remove all garbage from resident rooms and common areas, wipe down receptacles.
- Dry sweep room and bathroom followed by wet mop; removal of floor edge build up.
- Bath-day for resident requires HK to deep clean bed and remove all traces of dirt and dust. Build up. All furnishings to be wiped down and cleaned of all dirt and/or substances.
- Cleaning of office areas and common areas on designated floor
- Vacuum carpeted areas on designated floor.
- Wet mop any spills in common areas
- Monitor staff washrooms to ensure they are clean and well stocked with supplies.
- Break down boxes and place all recycling and garbage in appropriate bins.
- Maintain and organize HK room and record all depleting supplies to Facility Service Manager
- Always maintain a safe environment (e.g., use wet floor signs)
- Keep records and completes incident reports as necessary.
- Adheres to established department policies, procedures and objectives regarding quality management, safety, environment, and infection control.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Level Attained

Special Licenses, Diplomas, Certifications Or Requirements
The successful applicant will hold/have:
- WHMIS
- Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
The incumbent must have the following experience before hire.
- Previous experience in the Healthcare environment or Long-Term Care setting, Housekeeping preferred.
- Able to read, write and speak the English language.
- Able to communicate with Managers, other employees, and residents.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Considerable amount of standing and walking short distances, wide range of body movements involved in bending, rotating, and reaching frequently.
- Ability to carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing upwards of 20 lbs.
