Human Resources Manager opportunity is for someone who is a change agent and looking to be a part of a project team. The HR Manager will report to the Project Director, and be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, training and coaching staff to ensure the development of a high performing project team and, to support fostering a collaborative innovative work environment to deliver a major construction project.
This job is site based in Pickering and may require some time in Mississauga.

Human Resources Manager opportunity is for someone who is a change agent and looking to be a part of a project team. The HR Manager will report to the Project Director, and be responsible for recruitment, onboarding, training and coaching staff to ensure the development of a high performing project team and, to support fostering a collaborative innovative work environment to deliver a major construction project.
This job is site based in Pickering and may require some time in Mississauga.
What You Will Be Working On
- Support the project leadership team by providing advice and guidance on employee relations, recruitment, talent and performance management
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies and processes to attract and retain quality candidates
- Lead and manage employee orientation and onboarding
- Oversee the performance review process including training of managers and employees on Professional Development Reviews (PDRs) and providing ongoing feedback
- Provide advice and support for organizational/departmental restructuring
- Act as local Administrator and SME on the Human Resource Management System (Workday)
- Work with project leadership team to foster a positive work environment and support employee engagement
- Support recruitment by posting job openings, participating in interviews, and preparing offer letters and new hire packages
- Champion campus recruitment initiatives
- Facilitate the sign-on, set-up, orientation and onboarding process of new hires
- Prepare salary increase letters and other employee documentation as needed
- Maintain employee files and database and prepare monthly HR reports
- Assist with special projects, and social activities as required
- Provide coaching to project team members to assist with resolving personality conflicts and performance issues.
- Other additional duties as required
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field
- Minimum 8 years of human resources experience in a generalist capacity
- Experience in the construction industry working with joint ventures will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated professionalism with proven ability to handle confidential information
- Proven analytical/problem solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal abilities
- Experience working independently as well as part of a team
- Experience multi-tasker with strong time management skills
- Demonstrated initiative and drive
- An approachable personality with an ability to build trusting relationships
