Demand Generation plays a key role in a small business owner’s journey in discovering FreshBooks. By partnering with different brands and influencers, the team enables owners to find, become familiar with, and ultimately choose FreshBooks as their accounting software of choice.
This role focuses on expanding user growth for FreshBooks through strategic partner collaborations and marketing initiatives. This role is part of the Demand Generation team and focuses on Affiliate, Referral, Sponsorship, and Partnership Marketing Channels.
The Digital & Partnership Marketing Specialist will coordinate with outside vendors and agencies, in addition to collaborating and partnering with complementary cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve marketing department objectives.
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Demand Generation, the successful candidate will work collaboratively to drive partner growth. We are seeking an individual who is naturally curious, inquisitive, and hardworking. A creative thinker with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and someone with strong communication skills. If you are detail-oriented, upbeat, and collaborative, this is the team for you.
This is a 12-month contract position covering a team member on parental leave. There may be an opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on business needs and performance.

NOTE: This role can be worked remotely from the above location. What You'll Do
- Strategy and Planning:
- You will develop and refine a scalable strategy for partnering with external entities (B2B Partners, influencers, affiliates, publishers, etc.) to drive consumer growth while aligning with their priorities.
- You will assist in the strategic planning and execution of successful partner marketing acquisition campaigns.
- Campaign Management:
- You will identify new partners and content creators that align with the FreshBooks brand.
- You will lead the end-to-end execution of partner co-marketing campaigns, including:
- You will write and deliver detailed campaign briefs.
- You will coordinate with internal teams (product, marketing, development, creative) and external vendors.
- You will launch landing pages and other necessary digital assets.
- You will launch, manage, and track the performance of partner marketing campaigns.
- You will analyze campaign performance data and use insights to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Relationship Management:
- You will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing partners through consistent communication (email, phone, designated software).
- You will identify and forge new partnerships to expand reach and drive growth.
- Performance and Analysis:
- You will track and monitor results for all owned campaigns.
- You will analyze reports from various reporting platforms to assess campaign effectiveness, revenue growth, and partner profitability.
- You will demonstrate ownership of customer growth targets by closely monitoring key metrics, prioritizing high-potential opportunities, and adjusting strategies based on performance.
- Affiliate & Referral Program Management:
- You will run and assist in the delivery of the company’s referral program, ensuring a seamless process for awarding credit to owners who bring their network to FreshBooks.
- You will play a pivotal role in managing the affiliate channel, supporting publishers and individuals who drive referrals to FreshBooks.
- Review Coordination:
- You will coordinate with outside vendors and relevant internal stakeholders to launch user review campaigns.
- 2+ years of experience in Marketing
- Experience collaborating with a diverse set of partners and stakeholders to reach respective goals
- Strategic thinking, ability to understand the “big picture” and use creative problem solving to drive impact & results
- Solid project management skills, especially in managing several partner relationships at once
- Experience communicating a company’s or product’s unique value proposition to potential customers, partners and market influencers
- Enthusiasm for a fast-paced, collaborative, entrepreneurial and results-driven environment
- Working with influencers/content creators

- Managing a budget (ideally over $500k annually)
