What You’ll Be Doing

As Consultant of the Risk Business Intelligence Office (RBIO) you’ll apply your Technical skillset and knowledge of Risk Management to enhance risk domain business intelligence. You’ll participate in collaborating with business owners to capture detailed requirements and aid in supporting our technical teams to deliver reporting solutions using the Business Intelligence tools available.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Business Analysis – Work with owners of the various source systems that feed into our central data warehouse. This includes attending regular meetings to discuss new initiatives and planned promotion schedules in order for us to be able to synchronize our system with such upstream changes. In addition, provide support to our BI Developers with business requirements and UAT testing.
  • Collaborate – Work with technology teams that support our systems. They depend on our expertise to provide detailed requirements to implement our initiatives. Strengthen existing mutually beneficial relationships with external teams including the technology team.
  • Project Planning and Execution – As part of your business intelligence and data management responsibilities, you will participate in managing and tracking various commitments to our clients, helping to ensure that critical deadlines are closely monitored and not compromised.

  • You demonstrate experience in having a thorough understanding of and extensive experience with data warehouses, data querying tools (SQL), BI Tools (Cognos, Power BI, Tableau), experience with large data models and preparing data mapping and business requirement documents
  • You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
  • You're driven by collective success. You know that collaboration can transform a good idea into a great one. You understand the power of an inclusive team that enjoys working together to bring a shared vision to life.
  • You have a degree in finance, computer science or mathematical studies. Business Analyst Certification is an asset.
