Disease detection through smell? That’s right. With every breath, we release a health snapshot right into the air. This is the body’s hidden language, and up until now, it’s gone unnoticed. We're changing that. Inspired by nature and with a boost from NASA, we’ve developed the world’s first fully-integrated diagnostic breathalyzer. It’s capable of decoding these health signals in real-time and at any point-of-care. We’re bringing the sense of smell to the forefront of medicine and welcoming a new era of healthcare. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of medical device technology, contributing to innovative diagnostic solutions. The ideal candidate will blend technical expertise with a passion for quality and reliability in healthcare technology.

Who You Are:

As an Advanced Materials Scientist at Noze, you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge diagnostic technologies using your expertise in materials science. In this role, you will focus on the synthesis and deposition of thin-film materials specifically designed for chemical sensors in our groundbreaking digital nose technology. Your work will involve enhancing the capabilities of our DiagNoze platform through innovative microfabrication techniques and the integration of novel microfluidic systems.

You are a highly skilled materials scientist with a strong background in the design and development of micro and nano systems with novel thin-film technologies. Your experience extends to applying these technologies in the development of chemical sensors, crucial for digital olfaction applications. You thrive in collaborative settings, effectively working with cross-functional teams to ensure the technologies you develop are seamlessly integrated into broader system architectures.

What You'll Do:

As a key member of our technology team at Noze, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and characterization of advanced nano materials based chemical sensors for our digital nose technology. This includes working on our primary sensor technology as well as supporting peripheral systems that enhance the performance and functionality of our devices. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and synthesize advanced thin-film materials for use in chemical sensors, ensuring they meet the specific requirements for integration into microfluidic systems.
  • Develop advanced chemical sensor systems through the synthesis and manipulation of complex liquid colloidal suspensions containing nanomaterials, and oversee their deposition processes to create repeatable, high-quality sensor thin films.
  • Collaborate with other scientists and engineers to ensure that the new materials and technologies are effectively incorporated into our products.
  • Drive innovation in material science to enhance system performance, reliability, and functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in microsystems technology, thin film process and deposition, synthesis of complex colloidal suspension and characterization.
  • Proven expertise in material science with a focus on thin films, microfabrication
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

What we offer:
