How You’ll Make An Impact
The Event Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing exceptional end-to-end event experiences that create advocates and deepen client relationships. These event experiences range from in-person, to digital and hybrid.
The Event Marketing Manager will project manage the delivery of these events from digital program set-up, invitation process, registration set-up and management, on-site technology and ticketing, client relationship management and post-event activities. This role requires partnering with multiple business units, senior executives, clients and managing vendor relationships.

How You’ll Make An Impact

This role requires partnering with multiple business units, senior executives, clients and managing vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver outstanding event experiences, both in-person and digitally.
- Deliver exceptional quality event programs in-line with annual business plans that deepen client relationships,
- Manage the efficient and successful running of events on-site in US and Canadian venues and in digital environments.
- Attend in-person events to ensure the successful delivery of the program
- Deliver post-event analytics
- Accurately manage Event budgets and reporting to support ROI analysis and regulatory compliance.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure the best pricing for each particular engagement.
- Accurately manage budgets for each event initiative in line with documented processes
- Prepare detailed expense reporting for audit purposes.
- Track and report attendance and measure targets data for Senior Management.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the compliance regulations specific to events and business entertainment.
- Seek opportunities to use automaton to streamline manual tasks including event attendance and financial reporting.
- Seek cost effective digital solutions to deepen the client experience.
- Execute on detailed events plans that manage risk and deliver seamless experiences.
- Create project workback schedules and action plans for internal partners.
- Maintain master agendas and schedules for events.
- Build and set-up events programs in a range of technology platforms
- Create testing plans, perform testing and QA on digital platforms or workflows with documented sign-offs.
- Work with Marketing and Product teams to develop accurate materials and the program agenda.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the event, including production and technology.
- Act as an event technology super-user and admin in platforms
- Ensure risk management, compliance, corporate security, and contingency planning is implemented for each event.
- Work with FIC speaker resources and investment staff to coordinate schedules for speaking opportunities as well as prepare travel details for corporate conferences.
- PM Access Manage PM (portfolio manager) and SME (subject matter expert) resources while successfully meeting the needs of the clients and Sales.
- Successfully manage the PM access process for Sales teams requesting portfolio manager support for virtual or in-person events.
- Continuously look for efficiencies in the PM access process and opportunities to improve the client and PM experience.
- Proactively liaise with other departments including Sales, Products and Marketing, IS, HRCA, Compliance, and Finance.
- Always seek opportunities to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Build relationships and become familiar with the roster of talent, including PMs, IPMs and Analysts as well as FIC Speaker Resources
- Act as a subject matter expert on event process and continuously look for opportunities to enhance the client experience.
- Create detailed documented processes for each step of event programs.
- Conduct ongoing research into digital and in-person event trends to improve event experiences.
- Map the entire customer journey at each event and envision all possible scenarios to better plan for contingencies, eliminate friction and allow for flexibility to pivot based on variables.
- Research and document detailed requirements for event-related technology or workflows and work with internal partners or vendors to ensure successful delivery of the vision.
- Stay on top of an ever-evolving events landscape by embracing hybrid/digital approaches and new technologies.
- Successfully onboard new vendors and create testing plans with documented QA (quality assurance) sign-off
- Work in-platform as an administrator in digital and hybrid event technology platforms.
- 3 years of event management experience in a corporate environment, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Deep understanding of digital engagement in the context of event marketing.
- Bilingualism in French/English, written and verbal, is an asset.
- Exceptional organization, project management, and planning skills with a proven ability to manage events, including in-person and digital.
- Excellent vendor management and budgeting skills, including pricing negotiation, invoicing, and recordkeeping.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with particularly strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong collaboration skills with an ability to successfully meet deadlines while maintaining positive working relationships in a team-based environment.
- Deep knowledge of digital event experience with hosting virtual events through streaming platforms such as CVENT and Zoom Events.
- Strong knowledge of customer relationship management software including Adobe Marketo, Salesforce and the Microsoft Office suite.
