Job Description

The Financial Analyst will work directly with the Manager of Finance, to support accurate and timely regulatory reporting to ensure compliance. Additionally supporting the wider team with month end close, reconciliations and variance analysis

The successful candidate will bring critical thinking, a strong attention to detail and a desire to “dig in” to learn the business while being mindful of the strong culture and commitment of the Company to provide the best care possible for our patients and residents across Canada.

This position will be located at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario and will have flexibility for both remote and in-office work based on our hybrid work model.

Accountabilities

  • Perform variance analysis across the general ledger accounts and financial reports
  • Prepare the Financial reports and respond to inquiries and requests.
  • Help prepare balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare annual reconciliations to identify unearned revenue to be returned to the Ministry of Health
  • Compile necessary documentation from various departments to support compliance reporting
  • Drive finance process improvement by applying a fresh perspective and creative problem solving.
  • Manage auditor requests and submissions to external parties on behalf of the company.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or Accounting
  • Working towards CPA accounting program preferred
  • 1- 2 years work experience in accounting related role
  • Experience in identifying, investigating, analyzing, and reporting variances.
  • Excellent communication, organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel is required.
