MatchBox Consulting is on the hunt for an HSE advisor to work out of Vernon, BC. Our client is a leading commercial and institutional builder with deep roots in Western and Northern Canada, they are known for their relationship-driven approach, commitment to safety, and high-quality project delivery. Backed by the strength of a global construction leader, they combine local expertise with innovative practices to build stronger, more sustainable communities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure site compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and the project-specific HSE plan.
  • Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and field-level risk assessments.
  • Perform regular safety audits, inspections, and reporting.
  • Coach and monitor trade partners and internal teams on safe work practices and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation including hazard assessments, SDSs, and emergency plans.
  • Assist with incident investigations, modified work programs, and claims coordination.


Qualifications & Requirements


  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in construction safety or HSE roles.
  • Relevant safety certification (e.g., CRSP, CSO, CSP, or equivalent) required.
  • Strong knowledge of BC occupational health and safety legislation and commercial construction practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for site-wide safety engagement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; understanding of LEAN principles or continuous improvement is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license; Level 2 First Aid or EMR preferred.
