Job Summary:

The US Personal Bank (USPB) Learning team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agile Project Manager to drive the delivery of high-quality learning solutions. As an Agile Project Manager (APM), you will lead and manage projects using Agile methodologies, ensuring alignment with USPB business needs. This role combines project management, change management, Agile coaching, and Scrum Master responsibilities to foster continuous improvement across the USPB Learning organization.

Reporting to the USPB Learning Program Execution Lead, the APM will play a key role in executing the long-term strategy of the USPB Learning organization. This involves optimizing the delivery of value-driven iterations and increments, collaborating with leads, managers, and squads to analyze requirements, and identifying appropriate Agile frameworks to enhance value and results.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Agile principles and practices, excellent project management, change management, and facilitation skills. As a professional in the learning group, the Agile Project Manager will, at times, demonstrate cross-functionality by taking on learning tasks such as instructional design and delivery, thus a background in learning and development is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Plan, execute, and close projects using Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or LeSS.
    • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, and backlogs.
    • Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
    • Track and report on project progress and performance using relevant metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity), providing clear and concise updates to stakeholders.
    • Ensure adherence to Agile principles and practices.
  • Change Management:
    • Lead and facilitate organizational change initiatives related to Agile adoption.
    • Develop and implement change management strategies to minimize resistance and maximize adoption.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure understanding and buy-in.
    • Provide training and support to teams and individuals on Agile principles and practices.
  • Agile Coaching:
    • Coach and mentor USPB Learning teams on Agile methodologies, principles, and practices, empowering teams to take ownership of their work and make data-driven decisions.
    • Facilitate the adoption of Agile best practices and continuous improvement.
    • Help teams to become self-organizing and high performing.
    • Provide guidance and support to product owners and scrum masters.
    • Coach and guide leadership team to enhance their Agile leadership skills to inspire and drive adoption of Agile practices across the organization.
  • Scrum Master:
    • Ensure that Scrum is followed and that the team is continuously improving.
    • Remove impediments and blockers that are hindering the team's progress.
    • Protect the team from distractions and interruptions.
    • Promote collaboration and communication within the team.
    • Facilitate Scrum events, by request
    • Coach the Product Owner in managing the backlog
    • Focus on Scrum team health

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or experience equivalent.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience coaching Agile individuals and teams (directly or indirectly).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience working on Agile projects of varying size and complexity (directly or indirectly).
  • Experience in Scrum, Kanban, and Lean frameworks.
  • Experience managing the learning work stream of large, complex projects.
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills.
  • Expertise in training, coaching, and developing others.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Successful in influencing, persuasion, and getting work done through others.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Agile Coaching certification (ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF).
  • Agile Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM).
  • Knowledge of ADDIE, Successive Approximation Model (SAM), and 70:20:10 learning models.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
