What You’ll Get To Do
The Maintenance Technician is focused on installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment / machinery to ensure safe, efficient operations and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
This role is perfect for an individual who is technically inclined, possesses a strong problem-solving mindset, and demonstrates a commitment to safety. A vital member of the Maintenance Department this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.
Job responsibilities include:
- Install, align, and commission new machinery for glass cutting, tempering, laminating, and insulating, ensuring proper setup and calibration to meet production standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on mechanical systems, including conveyors, vacuum lifters, and polishing equipment, to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using diagnostic tools and technical documentation to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
- Document maintenance activities in the CMMS, analyze recurring issues, and recommend long-term solutions to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce failures.
- Support safety and continuous improvement initiatives by following safety protocols, participating in audits and risk assessments, and collaborating with production and OpEx teams.
- Certified Millwright with a Red Seal.
- 3–5 years of industrial or manufacturing experience, preferably in glass fabrication.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems. Basic electrical.
- Proficient in technical skills such as welding, machining, blueprint reading, and precision measurement.
- Technologically adept, with experience using CMMS software, Microsoft Office, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Hourly Rate: $40 - $43 / hr CAD DOE
