The Director, E-Commerce leads the development and execution of Medline Canada’s B2B online strategy, focusing on growing market share and increasing conversion to Medline Brand products. This role oversees platform development, optimizes customer experience, and enhances online sales channels for non-EDI Post-Acute and Acute off-contract customers, and is focused on building accretive profitable revenue growth for Medline Canada.
As a cross-functional team leader, the Director, E-Commerce drives revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer retention by creating engaging content, implementing SEO/SEM strategies, and promoting Medline Brand conversions, upsells, and cross-sells to increase basket size and attract new customers. This role requires a strong understanding of Ecommerce sales and marketing strategy, along with the ability to build from the ground up, scale operations, and deliver new Ecommerce capabilities for significant growth in Canada.

Core Job Responsibilities
- Ecommerce Strategy Development: Define and implement a comprehensive Ecommerce strategy aimed at increasing market share, improving profitability, and converting customers from distributed products to Medline Brand offerings. Set and track KPIs for growth. Achieve Ecommerce Deal Thesis.
- Platform Development and Optimization: Participate in Ecommerce platform build, ensuring that the platform supports seamless customer experiences, product discoverability, and scalable growth.
- Medline Brand Conversion: Develop specific strategies to promote and convert customers to the Medline Brand products, including targeted campaigns, pricing strategies, and bundling options.
- Customer Experience Enhancement: Oversee the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) to ensure optimal navigation, product search, and online purchase processes that drive conversions and customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and IT to ensure ecommerce initiatives are aligned with the overall business goals and product strategy.
- Performance Tracking and Analytics: Monitor key Ecommerce metrics, including traffic, conversion rates, average order value (AOV), customer acquisition costs (CAC), Medline Brand penetration, and customer lifetime value (CLV). Use data insights to drive continuous improvements.
- Budget Management and ROI Optimization: Oversee the Ecommerce budget, ensuring spending aligns with goals and delivers a strong return on investment (ROI).
- Develop and implement AI-driven Solutions to Drive Engagement and Create Operational Efficiencies: AI tools for personalization, recommendation, and pricing strategies to improve customer engagement, increase basket size, optimizing margins, customer insights, demand forecasting, and dynamic inventory management to enhance operational efficiency and drive revenue growth.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, Engineering or a related field.
- 7 -10 years proven experience in Ecommerce marketing, digital marketing, or online sales, with a focus on driving online sales and developing content strategies that drive lead generations and customer engagement in B2B contexts.
- Expertise in managing large-scale B2B Ecommerce operations that require collaboration across departments and alignment with company goals.
- Proficiency with Ecommerce Platforms: proven experience leading E-Commerce platforms/tools (e.g., SAP Commerce Cloud, Magento, etc.) their capabilities for B2B commerce, and scaling online businesses in a competitive market.
- Knowledge of Web Development Fundamentals: including UX/UI design, HTML, CSS, and site performance optimization.
- Experience with Analytics Tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau) to track performance and derive insights for decision-making.
- Expertise in Digital Marketing Strategies: such as SEO, SEM, paid search, and remarketing, particularly in driving B2B customer acquisition and engagement.
- Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems: (e.g., SAP, Salesforce) for integration with ecommerce platforms and customer management.
- AI Curiosity: ability to harness AI applications for business growth and operational efficiencies.
- Ability to drive market share growth, margin improvement, and customer conversion through targeted Ecommerce strategies.
- Strong skills in data analysis and using insights to refine ecommerce strategies and improve the customer journey.
- Proficient in platform management and driving customer-centric changes based on data-driven feedback.
- Understanding of B2B sales cycles, marketing principles, product positioning, customer segmentation, customer behaviours and mark trends.
