Your role
- Plan and execute intermediate-level compilation, engagements including preparation of financial statements and applicable tax filings and WCB returns
- Prepare intermediate level personal income tax returns and related schedules
- Respond to client inquiries and concerns
- Establish and maintain client relationships
- Analyze client circumstances and provide useful insight and support for financial decision making or planning, including identifying opportunities for value-added services to clients
- Review internally prepared bookkeeping files
- Manage time, budgets, work in progress and billings
- Improve technical skills by participating in ongoing training and development opportunities
- Collaborate with team to optimize internal processes
- Train and mentor Junior Accounting Technicians
- Completion of post-secondary certificate or diploma in accounting
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively to resolve client issues
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform more than one task concurrently
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft 365, CaseWare, TaxPrep, QBO, Xero and other relevant software
