We are seeking a dedicated Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to assess client needs, convey complex information clearly, and facilitate conflict resolution. Experience with disabling conditions, rehabilitation therapies, and vocational evaluation is essential.
What You’ll Do
- Provide participant-centered services that support timely and successful vocational rehabilitation outcomes.
- Assess clients’ vocational potential through in-depth interviews, analyzing work history, education, and medical conditions.
- Coordinate rehabilitation and return-to-work plans by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary health professionals.
- Identify and match transferable skills to current labour market trends, including conducting labour market surveys.
- Administer and interpret aptitude, interest, academic, and B-level IQ assessments as part of residual capacity determinations.
- Conduct research and prepare comprehensive reports; knowledge of the NOC, OaSIS, and Career Handbook is a strong asset.
- Facilitate and conduct vocational rehabilitation assessments and interventions.
- Certification: CVRP, CVRP-F, or registration with the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d'orientation du Québec.
- Experience: Minimum three (3) years in medical, psycho-social, and/or vocational rehabilitation services.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent post-secondary education and experience combination).
- Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with assessment tools and research resources.
- Expertise: Experience conducting vocational assessments, analyzing reports, and developing comprehensive care plans.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary team with various health professionals.
- Employment conditional on obtaining federal security clearance – Reliability Status.
- Bilingualism (French/English) is highly desirable.
- Experience engaging with employers, community resources, and training institutions** to support client rehabilitation.
