Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The position involves research that will be conducted in the Gregorieff lab at the Glen site of the RI-MUHC and relates to the study of regenerative responses in the epithelial compartments of the intestine using various injury and/or cancer models.

General Duties

  • Lead and participate in research projects,
  • Reviews and evaluates research findings, analyze results, prepares reports and manuscripts,
  • Contributes to scientific content of research grant applications related to the project,
  • Meet and report regularly to the principal investigator.

Education / Experience

Education: Doctorate Degree

  • Doctoral degree (PhD)
  • Strong background including first author publications in peer reviewed journals in the fields of cellular signaling, cell biology, developmental biology, cancer biology, immunology and inflammation.
  • Candidates with strong experience with the following techniques are encouraged to apply : organoid cultures, CRISPR-based genome editing techniques, lentiviral infections, in vivo mouse models (e.g. orthotopic cancer models), bioinformatics and analysis of scRNAseq data sets.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek)

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and experience. $54,327.00 - $100,882.60

Work Shift: Variable Schedule

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
