Job Description
The Director of Digital Transformation is responsible for leading strategic digital initiatives within the shipyard, with an immediate, primary focus on the implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP. This role serves as the bridge between leadership, business operations and IT, ensuring technology investments drive measurable business value, improve processes, and achieve desired business outcomes. The Director works cross-functionally to guide IT resources, system integrators, and external vendors to deliver optimal solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. The Director will collaborate with the leadership team and the Vice President, Business Technology solutions to identify and define projects that meet the criteria of digital transformation initiatives.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

What You'll Do
Digital Transformation Leadership
- Lead the Shipyard’s digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business strategy and operational needs.
- Define and track business outcomes for digital initiatives, ensuring projects achieve measurable benefits and return on investment.
- Act as a key liaison between leadership, business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to drive transformation efforts.
- Define and drive desired business outcomes.
- Oversee the successful implementation of Oracle Cloud ERP, ensuring business requirements are met, best practices are followed, and benefits are realized.
- Collaborate with IT and business leaders to define and drive all aspects of the project.
- Work with the project manager to drive a project that meets business needs while delivering on schedule and on budget.
- Ensure user adoption and training efforts support a smooth transition to the new system.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation across shipyard operations.
- Partner with functional leaders to optimize workflows, enhance reporting capabilities, and drive operational efficiencies.
- Support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Work closely with IT leadership to ensure technology solutions align with business needs and operational goals.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and system integrators to ensure project success.
- Communicate project status, risks, and benefits to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive business experience with demonstrated leadership in improving business outcomes.
- Experience leading enterprise technology projects, ideally in shipbuilding, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
- Strong understanding of Oracle Cloud ERP or similar enterprise systems.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and change management skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and drive IT teams to deliver optimal solutions.
- Experience in a shipyard, defense, construction or manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Experience in digital transformation, ERP implementations, or business process optimization.
- Knowledge of supply chain, planning, finance, or operations processes within an industrial setting.
- Certification in project management (PMP, Agile, or equivalent) or change management (PROSCI, etc.).
