This position will be an onsite role based out of our manufacturing site in Milton, Ontario.

What will you do?

  • Work from written or verbal instructions from team lead, system generated picking documents and established work routines.
  • Verify that part numbers match packing slips and that quantities are correct.
  • Receive incoming parts on the dock and/or Truck Bay, relocate them and ensure they are allocated to proper locations, filing receiving paperwork.
  • Prepare items for shipment by assembling containers, posting weights and affixing proper postage and paperwork.
  • Pick, pack, move, put away, wrap, and load skids of various dimensions and weights.
  • Interface with warehouse office, customer service, drivers and carriers to ensure proper delivery.
  • Pick and count material of various weights and sizes accurately.
  • Support and assist team members with various tasks throughout the warehouse.
  • Support Dock activities when required.
  • Operate lift equipment safely to move material in and out of high bay racking and around the plant.
  • Perform cycle counts and audits.
  • Work with management team and coworkers to create a safety first and continuous improvement culture.
  • Solve routine warehouse problems.
  • Empty bins (Wood, Wire, Steel, Garbage, Cardboard).
  • Solve Pending transactions.


What will make you successful?

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in material handling within a manufacturing environment and demonstrate a robust understanding of material handling tools. They should be adept at learning swiftly and thriving in a fast-paced setting. The ability to communicate effectively with both office staff and production employees, while influencing continuous improvement in the site’s material handling processes, is essential.

An important quality for the candidate is the capability to maintain thorough documentation of material handling procedures and processes. Additionally, the candidate should align with Eaton’s values by maintaining a safety-first mindset and valuing inclusion and diversity.

The ideal candidate will also be passionate about safety and continuous improvement, as well as maintaining a clean work environment. They will need to have a strong work ethic, but also patience and understanding that they will be working in a busy production environment.

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with a Counterbalance, Reach Truck and Order Picker working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Only candidates residing within an 80 km radius of Milton will be considered for this position. No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.


Position Criteria

  • Must have a safety-first mindset.
  • Will be on a forklift 30-40% of the time
  • Must be willing to drive, but also spend time picking, if necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced/changing environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, numerical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within teams/groups and work with all levels of the organization.
  • Good PC skills, including MS Office 365, Outlook and the use of RF Scanners.
  • Effective time management.
