We are seeking a Controller to lead and optimize our financial operations while also providing strategic people management within our accounting team. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will play a critical role in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and payroll optimization, ensuring the company’s financial health aligns with our long-term growth strategy. This is a highly operational role suited to candidates who thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced industry setting—particularly within distribution, field services, or multi-location environments. Prior experience in public accounting is valued, but success in this position requires a practical, hands-on approach to supporting decision-making across departments

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver comprehensive financial updates to senior management through data analysis and reporting.
  • Act as a financial partner to operations, sales, and supply chain teams—providing real-time analysis, supporting pricing and margin initiatives, and driving visibility into working capital and performance metrics
  • Guide financial decision-making in alignment with company policies and current economic conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls and best practices.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with government tax filings and remittances across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead process improvements and automation to optimize payroll and accounting function.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering trust, productivity, and professional growth.
  • Implement and enforce efficient workflows and internal controls to ensure accountability and operational excellence.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration, supporting teamwork between finance and other departments.

What You Bring

  • CPA designation with strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and financial compliance.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in leadership roles, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proven financial project management skills, including cost analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience optimizing financial systems and streamlining accounting processes.
  • People management expertise, with a track record of coaching and developing accounting professionals and teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools (ERP systems such as NetSuite, Adaptive, Excel, financial modeling).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial insights to senior leadership.
