What You’ll Do
Eaton is looking for a software quality assurance intern within the Distributed Energy Resource Management Solutions (DERMS) Center of Excellence. The DERMS group accelerates the company's growth by developing advanced control algorithms and state machine logic for DERMS applications that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple Eaton businesses (e.g., UPS, microgrid control, energy storage, etc.). Additionally, DERMS provides a foundation for our company to develop innovative energy products more quickly.

Job Description: We are looking for an intern to join the DERMS embedded software team to perform software quality assurance tasks. He or she will participate in the design and development of automated tools and procedures to facilitate the testing process for the entire team. The candidate will also be required to work on test hardware installations in our laboratory and contribute to its improvement.

Main Functions
- Design and develop new features related to our internal test management tools
- Test new features, identify risks, and propose alternative solutions
- Help fix existing problems
- Automate current testing processes using various software tools
- Support/improve test hardware installations in the laboratory

Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an accredited university in Quebec
- Interest and experience in Python programming
- Interest or experience with Robot Framework
- Experience with Visual Studio Code development environment
- Experience with Git
- Motivated, creative, and effective both within a team and individually
- Initiative
- Reside locally in the Montreal metropolitan area
- Access to transportation to the Brossard office
- Professional proficiency in French (spoken and written)
- Experience with C++, Golang, Linux, and/or Docker
- Basic knowledge of electrical engineering
- Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams
- Also possess English language skills (spoken and written)
