Application Support Analyst

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an Application Support Analyst responsible for day-to-day support of third-party applications. The Application Support Analyst will develop test strategies based on business and functional requirements and execute functional and system test plans as required for commercial software and provide support to the business for user acceptance testing.
As part of the IT Business Applications Management team, you answer application inquiries and complex how-to questions escalated from the service desk, business, or other IT teams. You leverage your industry and/or technical expertise to collaborate across cross-functional teams on projects with broad scope and impact.
Key objectives include participating in a range of IT- and business-driven initiatives; deepening your understanding of key firm objectives, workflows and values; contributing your subject matter expertise to associates with application administration duties; documenting and suggesting/leading process improvements.
What will your role be responsible for?
- Research issues involving application integration points, data integrity & connectivity failures
- Diagnose root causes and recommend fixes or changes to support application stability
- Coordinate with various internal teams/departments to provide support
- Documentation of processes, systems and operational procedures, with a focus on recommending support process improvements, and a plan to drive change
- Collaborate within application support & product management to ensure operational excellence
- Growing and maintaining strong ongoing relationships with key vendors to coordinate change, advocate for business, and/or engage support for projects & initiatives
- Support & contribute to ITIL & SDLC best practices
To qualify for this opportunity you possess:
Experience Preferred:
- Minimum of a Business or related degree and two to five years of relevant experience or a combination of training, education and experience;
- Knowledge of the following highly preferred to required:
- Concepts of risk management, issue tracking, change management
- Information technology support and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of branch operations, advisor-facing technology, and/or financial services preferred.
- Interpreting client input, clarifying issues and developing solutions.

- Communication: Strong communication skills to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups;

- Technical and Professional Knowledge: Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas;
- Building Effective Relationships: Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals;
- Time-Management: Comfortable participating and managing multiple ongoing initiatives that may be at different points in SDLC.
- Prioritization: Clear understanding and ability to focus on priorities
- Accountability: Actively seeks out responsibilities and opportunities to engage and lead, escalating where appropriate.
Top Skills Necessary
- 3 – 5 years of experience completing root cause analysis, troubleshooting and provide fixes of applications, both inhouse and 3rd party, in an enterprise environment.
- 3 – 5 years of experience liaising with 3rd party vendors, managing those relationships with vendors and their internal development/support teams.
- 3 – 5 years of experience supporting users throughout lifecycle from 1st contact to resolution.
