What you'll do:

  • Partner closely with leaders across enterprise risk and sustainability functions to identify evolving data and analytics needs, set strategic priorities, and develop actionable roadmaps that drive organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with the broader risk programme to design and implement advanced tools that enhance risk management practices across multiple business lines.
  • Develop sophisticated portfolio construction and forecasting tools that inform strategic reviews and provide critical insights for portfolio oversight at both product and corporate levels.
  • Lead the reporting on performance metrics and risk exposure by business line or product area, ensuring transparency and alignment with overall corporate goals.
  • Establish best-in-class lending risk analysis practices while working collaboratively with insurance and investment analytics teams to ensure consistency in methodologies.
  • Leverage modern analytics technologies-including machine learning and artificial intelligence-to develop key risk indicators that proactively inform decision-making processes.
  • Participate actively in the ongoing assessment of potential credit risks as well as non-credit risks to safeguard organisational interests.
  • Identify opportunities to centralise risk data and analytics infrastructure for greater efficiency and improved data governance across the enterprise.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Risk Data and Insights Group to upgrade existing risk management systems in line with digital transformation initiatives.
  • Champion the development of non-financial risk data capabilities while supporting sustainable finance strategies through targeted analytics solutions.

What you bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, data science or a related field providing you with strong foundational knowledge relevant to this leadership role.
  • At least 10 years' experience in data analysis, risk management or oversight within a financial institution or equivalent setting where you have demonstrated your ability to deliver impactful results.
  • In-depth understanding of financial products such as loans, insurance policies, equities along with comprehensive knowledge of associated risk data metrics.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience influencing or leading at senior management levels where your interpersonal skills have enabled effective collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Fluency in both English and French allowing you to communicate effectively within bilingual environments-a key asset for this national role.
  • Extensive familiarity with lending activities as well as insurance and investment operations from a holistic risk-reward perspective.
  • Proven track record applying advanced statistical models or machine learning techniques within complex analytical projects focused on risk-related data analysis.
  • Experience contributing to financial planning processes including profitability assessments and capital management strategies within large organisations.
  • Background in business or sales analysis enabling you to interpret market trends while supporting commercial objectives through informed recommendations.
  • Previous exposure working within financial services or Crown corporation environments where regulatory compliance is paramount.
