The Company

We’ve partnered with a respected design-build construction firm with over 70 years of combined experience delivering commercial, institutional, and light industrial buildings across BC, Alberta, and Manitoba. Their projects range from community hubs and wellness facilities to fuel stations and retail spaces all shaped with practical design, budget-conscious execution, and real-world functionality. With all disciplines in-house from design and sales to estimating and construction, this team delivers projects from concept to completion with streamlined coordination. Their Richmond-based studio fosters a collaborative, hands-on environment where creativity and initiative are encouraged.

THE ROLE

Our client is seeking an Architectural Design Technologist who excels at translating client conversations into early-stage design concepts and technical visuals. You’ll produce conceptual site layouts, floorplans, and elevations, supported by 3D massing models and presentation packages that help secure client buy-in and shape project direction. This is a key position at the intersection of design, sales, and pre-construction - perfect for someone who blends creativity with practical detailing and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal sales and estimating teams to develop visuals that reflect client goals
  • Create and refine early-stage site plans, floorplans, and elevations for conceptual approval
  • Develop 3D models and Lumion renderings to support client presentations
  • Prepare polished, presentation-ready design packages
  • Apply basic building code knowledge to support feasibility (eg. exiting, accessibility, massing)
  • Translate iterative client feedback into updated design packages
  • Occasionally provide supplementary visuals, such as interior views, schedules, or details

Requirements

  • 4+ years of post-grad experience in architectural technology or design-build environments
  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Lumion (or similar tools)
  • Experience creating conceptual plans and presentation-ready drawings
  • Familiarity with zoning, site layout logic, and high-level code considerations
  • Strong graphic communication skills and attention to proportion, layout, and form
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, client-responsive setting

WHY JOIN THEM?

  • Take the lead in visualizing and communicating design intent from day one
  • Contribute to a range of meaningful commercial and community-based projects
  • Be part of a supportive and entrepreneurial team that values speed, adaptability, and design thinking
  • Enjoy mentorship, growth, and stability within a multidisciplinary studio environment
  • Convenient Richmond location with in-studio collaboration and creative energy

If you’re ready to bring design concepts to life, contribute to purpose-driven commercial projects, and thrive in a collaborative, design-build setting — apply today or reach out directly to Dara at [email protected].
