General Accountant/Administrator – Join a Close-Knit Team in a Key Position
Location: Mississauga, ON (Airport Rd & Steeles Ave)
Work Arrangement: In-person, Monday to Friday
Central Machinery & Metals is a processor of industrially generated scrap metal, providing advanced recycling infrastructure and logistical services to corporations across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a talented and experienced General Accountant with strong administrative skills to join our Finance team and contribute to both the strategic and day-to-day success of our operations.

What You’ll Do
- Perform general accounting duties including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis
- Ensuring monthly deadlines are met.
- Collaborate directly with the Secretary-Treasurer and Senior Business Partners and external accountants.
- Participate in continuous improvement and system optimization projects
- Assist with day-to-day office operations (ordering supplies, coordinating vendors, etc.)
What You Bring to the Team
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in multi-entity and multi-currency environments
- CPA, CA (Ontario) designation
- Strong working knowledge of Excel (PowerPoint a plus) and Word.
- Knowledge of Sage Business Vision an asset
- Experience with online banking integrations, reconciliations
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with great time-management skills
- Strong analytical thinker and confident problem-solver
- Able to work independently while being a reliable and proactive team player, someone with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Excellent English language skills required.
- Spanish language skills are an asset.
