Our occupational therapists (OTs) provide both individual and program-based treatments and assessments for auto carriers, life insurance companies, the legal community, and government agencies. They also play a pivotal role in supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, first responders, and others facing physical or mental challenges.

We are currently seeking an Occupational Therapy Lead (OT Lead) to lead our team of Occupational Therapists in the provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The Occupational Therapy Lead, alongside their direct clinical responsibilities, oversees Occupational Therapy teams and services within their assigned region(s). By providing mentorship and clinical expertise, they champion growth, uphold best practices, and establish efficiencies that enhance patient care. Reporting to the Vice President, Occupational Therapy Services, the OT Lead collaborates closely with Provincial Leads, Regional Directors, and Clinical Directors to support service expansion, profitability, and a positive work environment for Occupational Therapists. Serving as the primary liaison for their region(s), the OT Lead drives recruitment and retention efforts while also acting as the clinical subject matter expert for Occupational Therapy services.

This role is a combination of clinical practice and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Prairies OT Mentorship program
  • Forecast staffing needs based on projected caseloads, service expansion and organization growth targets
  • Participate in the recruitment of Occupational Therapists joining the network
  • Coordinate ongoing training opportunities (workshops, conferences, e-learning) to help staff maintain and elevate clinical skills
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for RFPs and play a key role in developing the service structure for new contracts.
  • Streamline workflow and delivery models of care and use data-driven insights to recommend improvements
  • Optimize OT scheduling efficiency and billing: This includes closely monitoring OTs and collaborating with Clinic Directors and Regional Directors to identify areas for improvement, reducing errors, and supporting operations to reach and maintain targets.
  • Optimize the Productivity of OTs across the region(s) – increasing operational consistency and quality of care
  • In conjunction with VP, Occupational Therapy Services, the OT lead works closely with sales, marketing, and business development teams to build off existing relationships and capture new business opportunities, expand service offerings, and penetrate new geographic markets

What you need to succeed?

  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Leadership experience- in managing and leading OTs or other clinicians in a clinical setting.
  • Min 3-5 years of Clinical experience. Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopaedic injury, home safety, ergonomics, PDA/CDA, return to work programs.
  • Good understanding of WCB, MVA, LTD, and Private care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills. (Microsoft, PowerBI)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
