Level 1 Welding Inspector

The Cahill Group is seeking dynamic and adaptable applicants for a temporary Level 1 Welding Inspector, based out of our office in St. John’s, NL. As a Level 1 Welding Inspector with Cahill, you will be responsible for performing visual inspections, ensuring compliance with welding standards, and supporting overall quality assurance efforts for ongoing work scopes. You also possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a strong ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment. This position offers valuable exposure to multi-disciplinary construction projects, providing an excellent opportunity to add meaningful value to kick-start your career.

What will you do?

• Perform visual inspection of welds in accordance with all applicable standards under the supervision of a CWB Level 2.
• Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and materials.
• Ensure all requirements of Inspection and Test Plans are followed and verified
• Request and verify NDE completion
• Receive, inspect and verify material in accordance with specifications
• Prepare final documentation for handover
• Identify weld defects and non-conformances; document findings and initiate corrective actions.
• Assist in the setup and monitoring of welding equipment and processes.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
• Liaise with clients and regulatory authorities on project-related issues

What will you bring?

• Diploma or certificate in Welding Engineering Technology
• CWB Level 1 Certification is required
• Knowledge of ASME, CSA codes, and standards is considered an asset
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-team environment
• Proficient problem-solving skills and attention to detail
