What You'll Do

  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior and intermediate engineers
  • Support business development and foster strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Prepare instrumentation and controls proposals
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines
  • Oversee the creation of technical drawings
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections
  • Participate in P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagram) reviews
  • Resolve technical issues and provide guidance
  • Develop specifications related to automation systems
  • Create and implement testing procedures
  • Deliver complete engineering documentation packages to clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology
  • Registered or eligible for registration with APEGA or APEGS
  • Minimum of 10 years of consulting experience in a relevant field
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Western Canada
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written

  • Quick, effective problem-solving abilities
  • Solid grasp of project cost control and schedule management
  • Broad knowledge of industrial automation, including instrumentation, control, and communication systems
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, HMI, DCS, and safety systems (an asset)
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and power distribution (an asset)
  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable mindset
