Reporting to the Manager, Integrated Marketing, the Marketing Consultant - Advisor Support is accountable for supporting Advisors with local area marketing by working with cross-functional teams and managing programs designed to support Advisor sales. You will also help Advisors by gathering their feedback, understanding the gaps and ensuring they have the marketing programs, materials, tools, and communication support to grow their business.

Reporting to the Manager, Integrated Marketing, the Marketing Consultant - Advisor Support is accountable for supporting Advisors with local area marketing by working with cross-functional teams and managing programs designed to support Advisor sales. You will also help Advisors by gathering their feedback, understanding the gaps and ensuring they have the marketing programs, materials, tools, and communication support to grow their business.
How You Will Create Impact
- Act as a subject matter expert in Advisor marketing by engaging and supporting Advisors to help them grow their book of business.
- Proactively communicate with Advisors and cross-functional support teams to help them understand what Marketing has to offer and how it can impact overall growth
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop and improve new and existing marketing programs and materials for agency use.
- Gather, analyze and report on Advisor feedback, gaps and share with cross-functional teams to close feedback loop.
- Manage and execute programs designed to support advisor sales, marketing objectives, and feedback mechanisms to proactively address Advisor challenges and needs.
- Own and oversee the management of the key Marketing Advisor portals, print vendors and technology.
- Participate in strategic planning activities as a member of planning teams and anticipate, recommend and execute communication activity to support team objectives.
- Establish, nurture, and enhance effective cross functional relationships across teams that include business stakeholders, Sales, Brand, Communications, Digital, Legal, Compliance, and more, ensuring that commitments are met and that we are mutually investing in success.
- You have an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and ability to influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.
- You have proven examples of taking proactive initiative – assuming ownership, independently researching and analysing opportunities, and compiling recommendations for solutions – for marketing programs, a process change and/or a different strategy approach.
- You are well organized and detailed oriented and use a variety of tools and processes to track, manage and share information across stakeholders.
- You use critical thinking and analytical skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions, and proactively propose solutions.
- You have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.
- You build trusting relationships, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and provide guidance to support the development of colleagues.
- You possess strong budget management and project management skills to ensure initiatives are delivered on time and on budget.
- You have 5-7 years of related experience in a marketing/communication environment to understand the intricacies of product marketing, marketing strategies and marketing analytics.
- University degree (marketing, digital marketing, product marketing, communications, business or related field).
- Expertise in print production process an asset.
- Previous experience in a marketing role in the insurance sector would be considered an asset.
- Skills in project management, marketing and communications strategic planning, organizing and consensus building. Negotiating and budgeting skills required.
- Ability to work effectively with external agencies and suppliers to successfully manage delivery of work on-time and on-budget.
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
- You’re flexible and easily adapt to new tools, trends and business needs in a fast-paced environment.
- You will travel occasionally.
- This role involves direct contact with clients and/or service providers in their environment.
