Position Overview

As the President, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's operations, driving revenue growth, and expanding our market reach. You will be expected to enhance the company's strategic direction, strengthen our market position, and uphold the high standards that have earned the loyalty of our customers.

This role requires a dynamic, results-driven leader with a passion for innovation and a proven track record in growing businesses within the manufacturing or construction industry. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure the company’s goals are met while maintaining a strong company culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and set the overall strategy for the company’s growth and market expansion.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team and staff to achieve company goals, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
  • Customer Relationships: Maintain and deepen relationships with existing clients while developing new business partnerships.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality control, and adherence to industry standards. Maintain a Safe Working environment for all employees and maintain all safety guidelines.
  • Sales Growth: Drive revenue growth through the development and implementation of robust sales strategies and customer acquisition initiatives.
  • Market Expansion: Identify and pursue new market opportunities, including geographical expansion and product line diversification.
  • Financial Management: Oversee the financial health of the company, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitability targets are met. Full P&L responsibility of the business unit, including forecasting and achievement; lead, direct, and coordinate business unit activities to achieve and increase sales and obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations to maximize profits
  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation by identifying new trends, technologies, and processes to keep the company at the forefront of the industry. Foster continuous individual development to build management depth and further enhance the technical and supervisory skills of the team.
  • Community Engagement: Responsible for fostering strong relationships between the organization and the local community. Implement, and manage programs aimed at engaging community members, supporting local initiatives, and enhancing the organization's presence within the community.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably as a President, General Manager, or COO within the manufacturing, building products, or construction industry.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in the building-material industry, management experience, and/or combination of both
  • Diploma or degree in a business-oriented discipline is an asset
  • Strong leadership skills that include effective communication, performance management and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as the business demands, including weekends
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite - including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of the building products market, including key trends and customer needs.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth and entering new markets.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively build relationships and interact with customers, suppliers, distributors and all other commercial contacts. Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts along with meeting all compliance requirements is an essential part of this position.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational oversight.
  • Knowledge of the British Columbia market, building codes, and experience in expanding business in regional or national markets would be a strong asset.

Compensation: Base salary $150K/annum with a bonus platform
