About the role

We are looking for a Claims Consultant, Property Claims to join our team!

What you’ll do here:

  • Act as an advisory resource for management team for technical quality, complaints, and training.
  • Participate in the review and update of claims standards and procedures by ensuring that they comply with our contracts and the applicable legislation and case law.
  • Collaborate with management to design, develop and facilitate technical claims training initiatives and programs relating to process and workflow changes, Closed File Review and Interval File Review
  • Work with the different regions on streamlining the Standards & Procedures.
  • Assist in managing the appraisal process for commercial and personal property losses.
  • Conduct audits of claims files to ensure compliance with company standards, reporting results to the management team and using results toward efforts to improve Claims functions.
  • Provide consultation on claims with medium complexity, including technical guidance and advice to staff, assessment of exposure and facilitation of Alternative Dispute Resolution as needed.
  • Support operations with respect to Standards & Procedures upon activation of the CAT Plan.
  • Engage in regional and national special projects to examine the Claims function and develop ways to improve both processes and personnel to better serve customers, solve systemic problems and meet company goals.
  • Attend meetings, work collaboratively with key partners and other stakeholders as required.

What you bring to the table:

  • A minimum of 2 years Property Claims experience is required.
  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
  • In-depth knowledge of property insurance product.
  • Training experience is considered an asset.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and insight.
  • Can lead meetings and projects.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism in French and English would be an asset for this role.
