STRIVE Recruitment is currently hiring a CNC TURNING SPECIALIST for a growing machine shop in Hamilton, ON. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a mechanical background who thrives in a fast-paced, team-focused environment. The Grinding Technician supports production by managing all grinding applications in a jobbing environment, including single pieces and low-quantity runs.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Perform initial set-ups and run first offs.
  • Produce 2D machined parts using 2-axis machines with a heavy focus on programming.
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerances.
  • Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using precision measuring instruments.
  • Liaise with Engineering to provide constructive feedback and improvements to processes.
  • Maintain ISO quality standards and safe working environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Licensed General Machinist (429A) is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Haas / DMG MAPPS controls is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of MasterCam is considered an asset.
  • Ability to program 2D horizontal lathes.
  • Ability to set up and run first off parts.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings or sketches.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Time management and communication skills.
