What will you do?
Up to 1 temporary part-time position up to 11 months
Hours of Work : 24 hours per week. Successful candidates will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends and rotation shifts
Salary : $31.109 - $38.908 (Hourly); $64,955.59 - $81,239.90 (Annually)
Salary ranges are in the process of being updated in accordance with the recently ratified collective agreement between the City and CSU 52 and will be forthcoming shortly.

What will you do?
- Uses Trapeze modules, veolia and other systems. and databases to monitor, track and optimize on road performance of runs
- Maintain continual contact by radio and text messaging methods with operators and resolve on-road issues
- Ensure appropriate reporting and computer entry of all required on-road events
- Complete record keeping for passenger trips, operator start and end times, and incidents
- Ensure daily coverage of scheduled service assignments adhering to set guidelines
- Determine acceptance and assignment of same-day client trip requests to runs and communicate changes to operators
- Working in a safety-sensitive position you will initiate a response to and monitor all on-road emergencies
- Complete all required reports in a timely manner to enhance customer service and DATS support team assistance
- Communicate clearly during high-stress situations, maintain effective communication in a rapidly evolving environment
- Follow policies and procedures in alignment with the values and beliefs of DATS, Edmonton Transit & City of Edmonton
- Provide information related to roadways, construction and other unanticipated situations and events that may affect Operator and/or run performance
- Respond to incidents, accidents and on-road emergencies by contacting and/or dispatching the appropriate support area such as Transit Inspectors, Peace Officers, EPS, DATS Operations Supervisors
- Review runs with discrepancies, such as violations or no operator assigned with trips and/or overtime
- Review daily reports to ensure runs correspond to current signup/spareboard processes and to the collective agreement; reconciles runs in the system to sign up or other documents as required
- High School Dip loma
- 2 years’ related experience in a t ransportation environment
- Training related to Dispatch and/or Emergency Response and Communication
- Ability to solve problems and make quick, independent decisions
- Knowledge of systems and databases, preferably within a Transit environment
- Proficiency with computer software (Windows, Office, Google), databases and systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of work
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
