What You’ll Be Responsible For
Provide day-to-day support for both Human Resources and Environmental Health & Safety functions of the location, ensuring that our workplace remains compliant, safe, and supportive of employee development and engagement.
What You’ll Be Doing
Human Resources Responsibilities:
- Responsible for weekly and semi-monthly payroll administration
- Provide day-to-day benefits administration of the extended benefits plan and retirement savings plan
- Support recruitment efforts including job requisitions, postings, screening applicants, and coordinating interviews.
- Administer and coordinate the on-boarding and orientation processes for new hires and promotional positions
- Assist with HR policy maintenance, implementation and compliance with federal and provincial labor laws.
- Support employee relations efforts, conduct investigations and resolve issues to improve workplace culture.
- Advise managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company and counsel managers on employment issues.
- Maintain accurate, organized and confidential employee records in employee files and in the HRIS systems.
- Coordinate and administer training programs, performance reviews, and employee development initiatives.
- Assist with workforce strategizing, development, succession planning, and change management.
- Assist with employee communication and feedback through such avenues as company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, employee focus groups, one-on-one meetings, etc.
- Coordinate and plan company events (employee appreciation, holidays, BBQs, milestones, etc.)
- Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company Human Resources policies and governmental laws and regulations.
- Other duties as may be assigned
- Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the organization.
- Administer required safety meetings including safety committee, Town hall meetings, open safety issues
- Maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Program (annual review and necessary updates)
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Maintain compliance with Work Safe and other relevant regulations.
- Oversee and ensure compliance for all required Work Safe and Pretium monthly training requirements per the Corporate supplied annual Training Chart.
- Maintain EHS documentation, including MSDS, Injury logs, Inspection reports, etc.
- Monitor and report on key EHS metrics and improvement initiatives.
- Communicate with Work Safe and third-party Claims Management company.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- 2 to 5 years relevant experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality or sensitive information
