Operations Learning & Development Specialist

How does the role impact the organization?

While some learning and development needs are shared across Operations, each business unit also has unique requirements. In collaboration with the Senior L&D Specialist, the Learning & Development Specialist will support Canadian Operations teams by designing, producing, delivering, and managing competency-based training. The immediate priority is to develop a comprehensive training program for each of the Operations teams, including support for ongoing tasks and the rapid response team. Additional responsibilities include creating technical content for business analysts, documenting processes, supporting internal projects, and enhancing employee learning plans.

What is your responsible for?

  • Coordination of training sessions and events.
  • Develop and maintain learning content (e-learning, guides, presentations)
  • Manage course enrollment and completion in the LMS.
  • Documentation of processes and procedures
  • Manage Rapid Response Team training requests and ensure smooth team operations.
  • Collect and apply feedback to improve learning programs.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to document processes and best practices
  • Maintain internal knowledge bases and learning repositories.
  • Analyze training data to generate insights and support decisions.
  • Prepare monthly dashboards and annual impact reports.
  • Track metrics such as participation, completion, and performance outcomes.
  • Organize internal learning events and team building activities.
  • Promote initiatives through internal communications.

What do we expect from you?

To qualify for this opportunity, you possess:

  • Post-secondary education in learning principles, certification in adult continuing education or equivalent instructional/educational delivery experience
  • Excellent proficiency in business process concepts (i.e., workflow diagrams, process mapping techniques)
  • Superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with a video editing tools, e.g., Captivate/Camtasia/Vyond/Articulate
  • Formal instructional design experience preferred, including conducting in-depth needs assessment using ADDIE (or similar) design model.
  • Adaptive learner, dependable, professional, creative and innovative; readily adapts to changing requirements.
  • French bilingual is an asset but not required.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc.) $65,000-$75,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
