We are looking for a talented Controls Architect- Lead to join our team specializing in Control System Engineering for our Accelera by Cummins Inc. in Mississauga, Ont.

To be successful in this role you will need the following
Education and Experience
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Prior Technical Specialist/Specialist Engineering equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, quality decision making and providing technical direction and leadership to a project team(s). Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

- Solid understanding of OT (Operational Technology) networks by ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient industrial communication systems.

- Proven experience in leading and managing teams by guiding cross-functional groups to achieve project goals and drive continuous improvement.

- Proactive, detail-oriented, and innovative by managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with engineers, vendors, operators, and management by coordinating effectively across diverse teams to implement strategic initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will need the following
- Educational Foundation : A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is essential for technical proficiency.
- Extensive Design Experience : A minimum of 10 years in industrial control systems design engineering ensures deep technical expertise.
- Specialized Siemens Knowledge : At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Siemens SIMATIC control systems is required for system integration and support.
- On-Site Implementation Skills : A minimum of 12 months of cumulative site assistance or commissioning experience is necessary for real-world system deployment.
- Team Leadership : At least 2 years of experience managing small to mid-sized teams demonstrates leadership and project coordination capabilities.
- System Architecture Expertise : Proven ability to define machine and plant control system architectures is critical for scalable and efficient design.
- Software Development Proficiency : Experience in developing software processes, tools, and reusable asset libraries supports consistent and efficient engineering practices.
- Regulatory Knowledge : Familiarity with control system regulations, norms, and best practices ensures compliance and industry-standard implementation.

Additional Responsibilities
- Define the architectures of intensive and complex industrial control systems.
- Provide Automation Engineering services based on the Siemens TIA Portal platform for complex Process and Mechanical systems for our targeted industries.
- Develop software development standards, guidelines, procedures, and asset libraries for the software team
- Implement and maintain the software development infrastructure and toolset
- Directly supervise a small to mid-size team
- Review and approve the work of others
- Interface with I&C, Process, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineers/designers, construction supervisors, and vendors.
- Lead the Scrum processes of a small team as a Scrum Master
- Perform necessary duties for commissioning network and industrial fieldbus communications
- Perform duties to establish functional and stress testing of developed code
- Identify failure modes and corrective actions for reliability and recovery modes
- Perform point-to-point checks along with documentation for process tracking and improvements
