We are looking for someone with potential to be a successor to their fantastic VP Finance so leadership presence as well as business acumen for operational accounting are equally important. What- the Role:

On behalf of our Client, SWIM is seeking a new Director of Finance to continue to support the success of this well-established company that has been around for generations.

The scope of this role is wide-ranging and an important leadership role within the company that will have direct leadership of 4 Controllers (Managers) and a total team of 20+. This role is varied in 75% accounting in operations and 25% corporate as this role does provide review and oversight of both their multi-location manufacturing accounting for operations and in the review of corporate accounting. In addition to being able to identify outliers in accounting, this role will also be leading budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning for operations.

This role is also highly collaborative working with various leaders in operations but across corporate functions.

Suffice to say this role is meaty and will put the right individual on an exciting career path to achieve potential growth to VP in a matrixed large company with some interesting operations and great people. There has already been some great process improvement taken place but looking for someone to continue to expand on what has been done and continue to allow this team to develop and grow too.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a dynamic, hands on yet strategic, and proactive operational accounting leader with excellent mentorship and coaching abilities. Leadership skills are the most crucial component of this role. The selected candidate will have a track record of success leading teams ideally in companies operational in scope and an accounting function of a large, complex, and multi-location business.

What- the Qualifications:

• Seeking a skilled leader with relevant industry experience ideally in Controllership or Director roles operational in scope. Preferred are relevant industries is natural resources, forestry, manufacturing with a tangible product as well as in supporting multiple locations and/or familiarity with a matrix organization.
• Strong leadership skills in developing a team, ideally with a minimum size of 10.
• CPA, CMA or CA and relevant post secondary education.
• This role is varied in looking for a leader with strong business acumen that can have presence in working with key stakeholders across corporate and operations.
• Ideal are candidates with strong process improvement experience that have the ability to still be hands on in reviewing the details and knowing when something is off but also have a strong skill set in planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to present strong financial information along with strong technical skills with large ERPs also desired.

How Much:

Competitive base salary commensurate with level of experience, skills, and qualifications, likely in the range of $180,000-200,000. This could flex upwards for the right candidate.

Where:

3 days a week at one of their corporate offices. This role can be based in the corporate headquarters in Vancouver, Edmonton, Prince George, or Cranbook.
