Estimator – Retail Construction (Urgent Need – Montréal-Based)

Location: Greater Montréal Area

Salary: $70,000 – $90,000

Type: Full-time, Permanent

One of our long-term GC clients is urgently looking to bring on an Estimator to help manage their retail pipeline. This person will lead full-cycle estimating — from takeoffs and subtrade analysis to bid submissions and cost planning. You'll also collaborate closely with internal teams and consultants to ensure smooth project handoff.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, knows how to spot gaps in drawings, and can confidently communicate with vendors, engineers, and PMs. If you’re looking to step into a tight-knit team and make an immediate impact — this is it.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Preparing full estimates using internal templates and takeoff tools
• Analyzing subcontractor quotes for accuracy and completeness
• Developing cost breakdowns across labour, materials, and overhead
• Coordinating with internal departments and external consultants
• Supporting continuous improvement of the estimating process
  
  

What They’re Looking For

• 3–7 years of estimating experience in retail, commercial, or related sectors
• Strong analytical skills and ability to review ambiguous drawings
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office
• Able to manage multiple bids at once with accuracy and urgency
• Clear communicator who works well independently and with others
