Within South Sector the AHP teams work together supporting each other to ensure we produce high quality care for our patients. A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, enthusiastic and self-motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Hand Hub service based in the South Sector on a permanent basis. It is essential that you are educated to Diploma/Degree level in occupational therapy while being registered with HCPC.
This post encompasses assessment & treatment of patients with hand injuries and subsequent orthopaedic surgeries in out-patient setting to promote independence. This involves providing upper limb assessment and therapy including providing exercises and splinting as required and then on-going hand therapy as appropriate. This post also includes new referral screening, onward referral and signposting to appropriate community services as required. You may be clinically responsible for rotational staff, support worker staff and students, inducting, training and managing staff daily. You will lead in service development and service change within the team. You will be actively encouraged to develop through your 4 pillars of practice while participating in CPD, audit and research.
You should have significant post graduate experience with previous clinical experience in hand therapy.
