About This Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Project Management Lead - Finance will support the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance Department management team more broadly. The Finance Department is a team approximately 40 individuals responsible for the financial accounting and reporting of multiple organizations within Girl Guides Canada, including the national operations, provincial councils and thousands of smaller components across Canada.
In This Role You Will
Occasional evening and weekend work is required, based on timing of periodic stakeholder meetings
Hiring Range: $65,100 to $76,830 / Annually
This position will remain open until filled. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.

In This Role You Will
- The development of tools to plan, monitor and report on multiple finance projects
- Delivery of training and ongoing coaching to finance management team and broader finance team to improve the skillset of the team in project management plan development, execution and monitoring
- Key support person for two finance related governance committees – Audit & Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and the Provincial Treasurers Committee
- Various aspects of senior level administrative support including managing flow of communications, document preparation (presentation materials, memos), meetings management (scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, tracking tasks, preparing minutes), proactively managing communications and inquiries, and records management.
- Coordination with various stakeholder groups including volunteer operational and governance committees
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to solve issues and develop ideas for process improvement, with a focus on using technology to improve efficiency
- Responsible for special projects from time to time as they arise.
- Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
- Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
- Project Management Professional certification or equivalent
- 6+ years of experience, including supporting a senior leader
- 3+ years of experience in project management, including development project plans, monitoring progress, risks and costs and preparing dashboards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong listening and interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, critical thinking and attention to detail.
- Excellent management and organization skills including demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks or projects.
- Self-starter with experience working under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook) and a quick learner of new technology platforms.
- Experience working within the non-profit or charitable sector.
- Understanding of finance department related activities
- Knowledge of/experience with Guiding.
