This Position Reports To

Drives & Motors Service Operations Mgr

ABB Motion provides pioneering technology, products, solutions and related services to industrial customers to increase energy efficiency, improve safety and reliability, and maintain precise control over processes. The portfolio includes motors, generators and drives for a wide range of applications in all industrial sectors.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

  • Repair & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on low voltage drives, both in the workshop and occasionally at customer sites.
  • Customer Communication: Provide clear explanations of repair needs, procedures, and cost estimates; maintain strong customer relationships and identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Cost Estimation & Documentation: Prepare accurate repair estimates and maintain detailed records of all service activities, including customer-signed reports.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies; report unsafe practices.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze equipment failures and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate materials and parts for service tasks; contribute to operational improvements and customer service enhancements.
  • Team Collaboration: Work independently or as part of a team; may guide other technicians on projects.
  • Business Awareness: Operate within a P&L-driven environment, balancing customer satisfaction with profitability

What it takes to Run what runs the world

  • Technical diploma or certification in electronics or a related electro-technical field preferred, along with relevant certifications in low voltage systems or electronics.
  • Proven experience in repairing and maintaining low voltage drives or similar equipment, with prior experience in customer-facing or field service roles.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, proficiency with repair tools and equipment, and the ability to write reports and communicate technical information effectively in English.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 35 lbs (15 kg), work in various environments, and travel occasionally to local customer sites as needed.
