Your Role: Own the Challenge/Take on the Journey
- Lead and collaborate on financial reporting, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including the creation of related documents and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with Accounting Policy, Internal Controls, and Assurance standards, maintaining audit trails and documentation for future audits and reviews.
- Review and validate income and expenditure classifications, general accounting practices, and adherence to ABB procedures, budgets, and policies.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, verify transactions and journal entries, and prepare schedules, variance analyses, and management reports.
- Support period-end activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, inventory and balance analyses, and assist with cost accounting and special projects.
- Manage inventory processes, including daily cycle counts, excess and obsolete inventory, and collaborate with facility counters.
- Administer capital projects from creation to disposal and oversee intercompany reconciliations.
- Perform financial analysis, modeling, and scenario planning focused on profitability, costing, variances, inventory, and productivity, while driving automation and process optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business is highly preferred.
- 3 to 7 years of experience in a cost accounting or factory financial analyst role.
- Experience with computerized accounting systems and financial reporting software, including (SAP, Oracle or related financial systems).
- Cost accounting experience required.
- English language skill(s) and proficiency. French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
- Strong Microsoft EXCEL skills and demonstrate proficiency with other Microsoft Office products (BI, Tableau, etc).
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in Canada.
