This Position Reports To

Service Manager

ABB’s Process Automation business area enables customers to operate some of the world’s largest and most complex industrial infrastructures, helping them outrun – leaner and cleaner.

We offer a broad range of automation, electrification and digital solutions for process, hybrid and maritime industries, including industry-specific integrated control and software as well as measurement and analytics solutions and services.

Your Role: Own the Challenge

  • Install, commission, calibrate, and perform preventive and corrective maintenance on ABB analytical systems at customer sites.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in analytical instruments while minimizing production downtime.
  • Provide after-sales technical support and propose solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Train customers and on-site personnel on the use and maintenance of equipment, and perform necessary system updates.
  • Write detailed service reports outlining interventions, corrective actions, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to improve system reliability.
  • Comply with safety standards and applicable regulations during all interventions.
  • Travel frequently internationally, sometimes on short notice, and contribute to revenue growth by promoting product and service sales.

What It Takes To Run What Runs The World

  • Degree in engineering or technical studies (DEC, Bachelor's) in electrical, physics, mechanical, electromechanical, or a related field, with at least 3 years of on-site troubleshooting and repair experience in an international after-sales service context.
  • Experience with analytical systems, spectroscopy, gas analysis, or industrial automation technologies, along with strong knowledge of electronics, sensors, PLCs, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems effectively, with a strong customer service orientation and availability to travel internationally up to 70% of the time.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • French is required. English is also required to communicate with customers outside Quebec on a regular basis.
