Position Information
This position will be based at the General and the Civic campuses depending on work volumes.
Rotation/Shifts
Days, evenings and nights, including weekends, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements
- Master's degree in Theology, Pastoral Studies, Divinity, Counselling and Spirituality or equivalent/related studies;
- Certification as a Spiritual Care Practitioner from Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC) or in the process;
- Mandate for ministry from their appropriate religious authority and good standing with this faith community;
- Membership with College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) or in the process of qualifying for membership;
- 3 Years of experience in institutional, health care and/or crisis spiritual intervention;
- Competence in providing spiritual care to persons and groups in various life situations and crisis circumstances;
- Integrated knowledge of psychological, sociological theories and theological understandings and the ability to uses these in their practice;
- Sound understanding of administration, advocacy, ministry to staff and colleagues, and structural accountability;
- Knowledge of hospital related policies, processes, and procedures;
- Understanding of the systemic as well as the personal dimensions of situations;
- Competence in self-evaluation and utilizing others for consultation to evaluate their practice;
- Good understanding of clinical ethics and ethical decision-making;
- Knowledge of hospital software computer programs;
- Understanding of risk management and quality assurance principles;
- Knowledge and critical analysis of research methodology and integration of theory to practice;
- Strong patient oriented focus with good patient care practice;
- Capacity to utilize spiritual competencies in a variety of functions such as spiritual care and therapy as well as worship, spiritual guidance, group leadership, teaching and administration
- Skills to provide intensive and extensive spiritual care and spiritual therapy;
- Ability to draw upon the experiential method of learning;
- Ability to engage the support, dialogue and feedback from colleagues for integrated spiritual care;
- Well developed conflict management skills;
- Ability to work effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team;
- Ability to function in a multi-faith/interfaith context;
- Capacity to be a moral agent and ability to facilitate moral behavior in others;
- Excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills;
- Presentation skills;
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
