You'll play a key role in critical project phases, from Basic Engineering and Detailed Engineering to Construction, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of commodities. We are currently seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Project Procurement Manager to be based in either Toronto or the Burlington office. If you’re the right person for the job, we are open to discussing you being located in another office location.

About The Role
- Leading a team in all purchasing activities to award and administer the necessary agreements for the purchase of equipment and materials, including:
- Assessing markets and potential suppliers in the development of sourcing plans and bid lists.
- Preparing RFP packages and managing the bidding, evaluation, and award (BEA) process.
- Leading negotiations on terms and conditions with suppliers, including coordination with internal and client commercial and/or legal groups, where required.
- Managing the supplier payment process, including progress verification.
- Overseeing change and claim management.
- Expediting supplier progress in fabrication and delivery of all goods, as well as document and data deliverables, to ensure that delivery milestones are maintained in support of project schedules.
- Coordinating supplier quality surveillance activities, including shop inspections and testing, to ensure that contractual requirements for technical specifications and performance are met.
- Working with project logistics personnel in developing and implementing a logistics strategy, including working with freight forwarders and verifying supplier adherence to packing and shipping requirements.
- Managing project procurement staffing requirements and performance to ensure that project objectives are met.
- Supporting project reporting requirements on procurement status and costs.
- 15+ years of experience in the EPCM environment in the mining and construction industry.
- Works well in fast-paced environments with strong problem-solving skills and a drive for task completion.
- A ‘team player’ who is collaborative and works to achieve consensus to remove obstacles and focus on forward progress.
- Detail oriented and an appreciation for structure, organization, and process in the work they do.
- Knowledge and experience in all facets of the procurement process and familiarity with bidding laws. Procurement and supply chain certifications are considered an asset.
- Experience in negotiation of contract terms and conditions, including facilitation of negotiations among legal parties.
- Experience in managing project teams of 5 or greater.
- Major capital project experience ($1 billion +) is considered an asset.
- Experience with Hexagon Intergraph Smart Materials is considered a strong asset.
