Northern Health is seeking a General Internal Medicine Specialist in Fort St John BC. This position will be a mix of office based, hospital consult, and ICU coverage. Candidates must be comfortable working independently on their own in the ICU, and on-call ICU shifts are 24-hours. Critical Care experience would be considered an asset.
At present there are two permanent Internists plus locums in Fort St. John. The goal is to have 3-4 permanent Internists in Fort St. John.
Fort St John Hospital is a new state-of-the-art 55 bed hospital serving a population of approximately 23,000, and is one of two hospitals serving a catchment area of approximately 70,000. The facility offers services including diagnostics, surgery, acute care, ICU, maternity, a community cancer centre, community hemodialysis, visiting specialists clinic, and a prenatal clinic. Other local specialists include Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology.
