Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at Grace Young Activity Centre.

In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Harm Reduction

Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), as well as within a client and family centered care model.

The Harm Reduction Nurse functions as a member of the larger Mental Health and Substance Use teams and as a member of a specific multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to provide direct, low-barrier, trauma-informed care to individuals living with physical and mental health needs, substance use disorder(s), and/or facing structural barriers to care (e.g., poverty, homelessness, involvement in sex work).

The Harm Reduction Nurse provides health care services such as: physical, psychosocial and substance use assessment; HIV, HCV and STI education, testing and treatment; medication administration and titration; overdose response; and support and referral to other health and social services. The Harm Reduction Nurse contributes to the development of client-specific care plans, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, other health care professionals, and community services to address clients’ complex needs. Where applicable, the Harm Reduction Nurse employs BCCNM Decision Support Tools for RN Certified practice appropriately.
